Force Sensing Resistors (FSR)

FORCE SENSITIVE RESISTOR & FORCE SENSING RESISTOR

FORCE SENSING RESISTORS(FSR)-WeGlow

The electrodes of FRS sensors can be designed in shapes such as rectangular arrays, single points, etc., and FRS sensors can be produced in any shape and size. These sensors are commonly used in fields such as automotive seats, sports equipment, healthcare, transportation, etc. WeGlow can provide prototype design, testing, and manufacturing. What is a Force Sensitive Resistor?

Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) is also known as a force-sensing resistor or pressure sensor. It is a sensor that measures the pressure applied. When pressure is applied, the resistance value decreases, and as the pressure decreases, the resistance value increases until the pressure is completely eliminated, and the resistance will return to zero. These signals are processed through ADC (Analog to Digital Converter) devices. Like membrane switches, FSRs are flexible, meaning that FSRs can be customized according to customer needs. Manufacturing and Principle of Force Sensitive Resistors

Force Sensitive Resistor (FSR) is composed of two layers of polyester film. Conductive silver paste and high resistance carbon paste are printed on the two layers of polyester in the same way, and they are synthesized through adhesive, making FSR in an open circuit state. As pressure is applied and released, the value of the resistance changes. FSR measures the force applied to a specific area, and then passes this information through the selected output electronic device. FSR is not suitable for accurate measurement.
